Pebbles to Rocks Day Care Waitlist & Selection Policy
Purpose
Pebbles to Rocks Day Care is committed to providing a fair, transparent, and organized waitlist and selection process for families seeking child care.
As a new child care centre, Pebbles to Rocks Day Care will open with a staggered start to ensure a safe and successful transition for children, families, and staff.
Age Eligibility
Pebbles to Rocks Day Care accepts children who are 18 months of age or older.
Children must meet the minimum age requirement at the time they are offered a space and begin care.
Waitlist Application
Families interested in care must complete the online waitlist application form.
Submitting a waitlist application does not guarantee a child care space. It places the child’s name on the waitlist for consideration as spaces become available.
Families are responsible for ensuring that the information submitted on the waitlist application is accurate and up to date.
Staggered Opening
Pebbles to Rocks Day Care is scheduled to open in July.
Because the centre is new, enrolment will begin gradually. The first group will include approximately 45 children.
As the centre becomes fully operational and additional capacity is available, Pebbles to Rocks Day Care will continue adding children with the goal of reaching up to 90 children.
This staggered approach allows the centre to support children, families, and staff during the opening period.
Selection Process
Families will be contacted as spaces become available.
Families selected for the first available spaces will be contacted directly by Pebbles to Rocks Day Care.
As additional spaces become available, families will continue to be contacted from the waitlist.
Selection and intake may depend on available capacity, age eligibility, staffing, licensing requirements, room availability, and the centre’s ability to meet the needs of children in care.
Declining a Space
If a family is offered a child care space and chooses to decline it, the child will remain on the waitlist.
Families will have up to three opportunities to decline an offered space.
After three declined offers, the child’s name will be moved to the bottom of the waitlist.
This allows families some flexibility while also helping Pebbles to Rocks Day Care manage spaces fairly and efficiently.
Contacting Families
Families who are selected for a space will be contacted using the information provided on their waitlist application.
If a family does not respond within the timeline provided by Pebbles to Rocks Day Care, the centre may move on to another family from the waitlist. This may count as a declined offer.
Acceptance of Space
When a family is offered a space, they will be provided with information about registration requirements, start date options, fees, and any required paperwork.
A space is not considered confirmed until all required registration steps have been completed.

Completing the waitlist application does not guarantee a space.
Selection is based on available capacity, age eligibility, staffing, licensing requirements, room availability, and the centre’s staggered opening plan.
Pebbles to Rocks Day Care reserves the right to adjust intake timelines based on staffing, licensing requirements, operational needs, and the best interests of the children in care.
